Join your guide, Kate Ediger, to up your Splitboarding skills and avalanche safety, while learning all about the slackcountry of Revelstoke Mountain Resort.
We will cover avalanche safety gear checks, skinning with a splitboard, condition observations, and plenty of riding. Be prepared for a fun and full day on snow!
- Comfortable riding a black run on a North American resort.
- 20+ days riding a variety of conditions and terrain, including powder, variable, and marginal conditions.
- AST 1/AIARE 1 or other equivalent.Â
- Splitboarders only. Sorry, no skiers allowed on this one.

- How to observe current conditions
- Tailoring your riding style to snow conditions
What's included
- A full day of guided riding in the slackcountry of Revelstoke Mountain Resort.
- Your first beer/drink back at Revelation lodge for debrief and Après.
- A swag bag with goodies from Arc'teryx Kelowna and our event partners.
What's Not (and required):
- Lift ticket, though we do have access to lift tickets at 50% off for those without a season's pass.
- Backcountry splitboard set-up.
- Avalanche safety kit, including beacon, shovel, and probe.
- Food while you are out on the hill.
Kate Ediger is a dedicated big mountain freerider and splitboarder with a deep passion for snow safety and avalanche education. Over the course of her career, she’s focused on becoming a skilled snowboard guide and avalanche forecaster. Kate works as a guide for various cat skiing operations across British Columbia and also teaches for Avalanche Canada in the school system. In addition, she is the founder and operator of Pit + Peak Avalanche, where she leads courses such as Intro to Backcountry, AST 1 & 2, and Decision Making in Avalanche Terrain. With years of experience and a commitment to safety, Kate is passionate about helping others navigate and thrive in the backcountry.
